WWII Propaganda Poster
Propaganda was heavily used in the United States not only as a form of rallying citizens to unite and destroy a common enemy but also to cut back on supplies to the troops had more. The purpose of this poster is to influence people to start carpooling and saving gasoline. Hitler represents all that is evil and it is trying to get the point across that driving alone is hurting the United States Military which helps the Nazis. So if you do not support the war effort on carpooling and saving supplies. The audience intended for the propaganda poster is for people that are old enough to drive. The point behind this poster is to target people old enough to drive and try and make them consider carpooling to save resources. The poster does a good job because it uses a sort of guilt trip to persuade the reader that if he is not carpooling he is helping out Hitler.
